Last Candle Studios (“we”, “us”, “our”) develops mobile apps and PC games. This Privacy Policy covers everything we publish, including Last Candle Tours, TargetAce and Kings of the Canvas. We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide each product’s features. We do not sell your data, display advertisements, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Information We Collect
Account Data Creating an account is optional. If you sign up, we collect your email address and store it securely via Supabase Auth. A unique user ID is generated at registration. You can use the app as a guest without providing any personal information.
Location Data Last Candle Tours requests GPS access for proximity alerts and map positioning. Location is processed on-device and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. Background location tracking requires explicit user enablement via Settings. Full app functionality is available without location permission.
Purchase Data When you purchase a story pack, the transaction is processed by Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS). RevenueCat verifies purchase entitlements on our behalf. No payment card details are visible to us or to RevenueCat. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy for details.
Listening & Progress Data If you are signed in, we store your listening history, story completion status, play counts, and whether you listened on location. This data powers your profile statistics and achievement tracking. Guest users do not have progress data stored on our servers.
Audio Delivery Free story audio is bundled within the app and plays without a network connection. Purchased audio is streamed via Supabase using short-lived signed URLs. Authenticated users’ requests include an authorisation token to verify entitlements; no payment or contact information is included in audio requests.
Support Requests If you contact us through the in-app support form, we collect the message content, your email address (if provided), and basic device context (operating system, app version) to help us respond effectively.
Crash Reporting & Analytics We use Sentry to collect crash reports, which may include device type, operating system version, and a screenshot of the app at the time of the crash. No personal content is captured. We may also collect anonymised usage analytics to help us improve the app. Both crash reporting and analytics can be independently disabled at any time in Settings > Privacy & Data.

Map tile requests are made directly to OpenFreeMap and may include the geographic area currently displayed on your screen. No user identifiers are included in these requests.
Data Storage & Retention
Account data and listening progress are retained until you delete your account. Crash reports are retained by Sentry in accordance with their data retention policies. Support requests are retained for as long as necessary to resolve your enquiry.
Your Choices
- Location: revoke permission at any time via your device Settings
- Analytics & crash reporting: disable either or both in Settings > Privacy & Data
- Purchases: use “Restore Purchases” in Settings to recover entitlements on a new device
- Account deletion: permanently delete your account and all associated data in Settings > Account. This action cannot be undone.
- Guest mode: use the app without creating an account; no personal data is collected

Information We Collect
Kings of the Canvas is a single-player game. It has no accounts, no online play, no advertising and no analytics, and it sends nothing to us.
Kept on Your Computer
- Saves, settings and your creations: game saves, settings, custom worlds, mods, and pictures you import or generate, stored in the game’s folders in your Windows user profile.
- Diagnostics log: a log file recording the game starting, errors and crashes, plus a crash dump if the game crashes. Both stay on your computer and are never uploaded. Your Windows user folder is removed from file paths in the log.
- Copy diagnostics: Settings › Data Management › Support › Copy diagnostics copies a report (game and system versions, recent errors and the end of the log) to your clipboard. It only reaches us if you choose to send it to us.
AI Writer and Portrait Generator (Optional)
Both run entirely on your computer: what you type into them and what they produce never leave it. The AI writer needs a language model, which the game downloads once, only when you choose to, from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). Hugging Face sees your IP address, as with any download. Apart from this download, the game does not connect to the internet.
Buying and Launching Through a Store
If you get the game from the Epic Games Store or Steam, the store handles your purchase, download and account under its own privacy policy. When the Epic Games Launcher starts the game, it passes your Epic display name, account ID and a one-time sign-in code. The game ignores them: they are not used, stored, logged or sent anywhere. If we add store features such as achievements or cloud saves, we will update this section before they go live.
Support
If you email us, we keep your message, your email address and anything you attach (such as a diagnostics report) for as long as we need to help you.
Third-Party Services
- Hugging Face: download of the optional AI writer model.
- Epic Games, Valve (Steam): purchase, download and launch, under their own privacy policies.
Storage and Retention
- On your computer: until you delete it. Uninstalling the game leaves your saves and settings in your Windows user profile (%APPDATA%), so reinstalling keeps your progress; delete the game’s folders there to remove everything.
- Support emails: for as long as needed to resolve your enquiry.
Children’s Privacy
None of our apps or games is directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
Data Transfers
If you use features that transmit data to third-party services (such as Firebase, RevenueCat, Hugging Face or a club ecosystem server), that data may be processed in countries other than your own. By using those features you consent to such transfers. All third-party services listed in this policy have their own privacy programmes and security measures.
Your Rights
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR), you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or give it to you in a portable format. Email us at info@lastcandlestudios.com and we will reply within one month. Many of these controls are also in each app’s settings, as described above.
We use personal data to provide the features you choose to use, to keep our services secure and fix crashes (our legitimate interests), and, where an app asks first, with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in that app’s settings.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through an in-app notice or by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of our apps and games after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
